I turned fifty-two today and am feeling fabulous.

I planning to go for a walk. Not just any walk but taking my doggie Diesel for a long walk. That is one of the presurgery goals I set for my self.

Saturday I took my other dog Maggie for a 1.77 mile walk. It was late at night and I wore her out. We had a good time. And today I will complete the gaol "Taking my german sheppards for long walks" I can't take both at the same time because I can not control them if they decide to go after a squirel or somebody, so, I have to take them one at a time.

My Birthday gift to me is to do what I wanted to do when I retired in 2008 "Take my German shepards for long walks." I am sure this will be the first of many.

And today I began to train for a 5K run that will be held in Holland Michigan on May 1,2010 with my friends on the MI Obesity.com boards.

I just may be "Fifty-Two and Fabulous!" emoticon

I lost 50 lbs by counting grams of protein 60-80 limiting my carbs to 160 grams and fat to 30 grams per day. On october 29th I had Roux and Y. (gastric bypass) since I have lost the remainder, and continue to lose at a rate of 3-5 lbs per week.
I still count protein and calories. but now I have to make sure I am getting enough not like before making sure I was not getting too much.

Weight loss surgery is a tool and not the easy way out. You still have to work at it exercise and eat health-wise.

    Happy Birthday!!! emoticon Sounds like you are on your way and feeling great. Good luck with training for the 5K. Good for you. I love walking. Tried running. I feel like a flounder flopping around. Not good. LOL! Bet those dogs love you for walking with them.
