PURE POTENTIALITY & PURPOSE....

Friday, January 15, 2010

Do you think we each have a purpose in life???? Perhaps our purpose is to search and find out what our purpose is....THAT IS our purpose. Once we know what that is, what do we do with that information? The knowledge of our purpose leads to our potentiality, right? I do think that our purpose doesn't have to be what society calls "important" and by that I mean; measured by the amount of money you make or stature you attain in life, but the person you really are INSIDE. The potential for being a good friend, father, mother, son, brother, husband, wife.....etc.; for having grace, knowing yourself and your full potential to love another human being .....That may not be your full potential, but I think....IT'S A DARN GOOD START! Therefore, when you ask yourself the question that we inevitably do....."Why are we here?" try to relax and know that perhaps just the shear joy of living your best life by fulfilling your potential as a good human being, may just be enough. At least, at this stage of my life, IT IS. I AM....at peace with this knowledge. Have a glorious weekend, my Sparkies...Love & kisses, MaryAnn

Love your encouraging words, you always brighten my spirits everyday with your postive attitude and genuine personality. Love EVERYTHING about you and your page, but this mouse HAS GOT TO GO MARY ANN!!!!!!!! It makes me think I am back at my MIL in California. UGH!!!!!!!!!!! YIKES!!!!! :O Tee Hee

Started looking at houses all day today and we made an offer on one this evening so as you can tell I can't sleep. I have no frig, no coffee pot, and no way to cook so I am going to stop by a quick trip and get some hot water and make some instant oatmeal and head to the gym. I'll be thinking of you while I do my work out because it always gives me encouragement. PS. Tell me what you've been cooking lately? My hubby was asking what I have missed the most and I have to say cooking. I can't wait to make cookies or something chocolate for him for Valentines day. It was ONE year ago Jan 17th that he had his heart attack and I so wanted to make him something special. Love ya, Wanda

I love your blog, it's just wonderful! For me my purpose in life is to be of service to the ones I love and my fellow human beings. That brings me more joy than anything I've ever known! Life is about being happy, joyous and free, no matter what challenges life brings! It *is* possible to have peace and joy, in the midst of sorrow and pain; I know I've experienced it.

MaryAnn, I think you are fulfilling your purpose in life perfectly. You have this wonderful ability to make everyone feel wonderful - that is such a beautiful gift and you give your gift to others freely because you know that it will come back to you.

Life is like playing a violin in public and learning the instrument as one goes on" - Samuel Butler

The "music" that I have made in life has not always been pleasant. But as life goes on and I become more comfortable with who I am and more focused on my faith and family I find that the music I make is more enjoyable both to myself and those I love.

I can't agree with you more. When I was growing up, I decided that the world would be a wonderful place if each person simply learned to be happy with him/herself and worked to live up to whatever was best inside of them. It is a never ending, exciting adventure to explore all that we are capable of. I grew up seeing with my own eyes that poverty and happiness were not mutually exclusive and that wealth and happiness did not always coexist.

Very nicely stated. It is sad that some seem never to find their purpose or are unable to celebrate it.

I think we are of like minds on this question. I believe my purpose in life is what I'm doing right at this moment. If I question that then my purpose in life is to question it and seek a new path. It's all good in my opinion. And right now my purpose in life is to answer this blog and hopefully make MaryAnn smile

Now on to my next purpose in life !!

Oh, I definitely think we have a purpose in life---but it isn't always what we would chose for ourselves. God has something in mind for each of us. Sometimes we follow His path and sometimes we rebel. When my son's heart was broken when he got as far as the Wait List for the Naval Academy in college, I told him that God had a plan for him. There was a reason he was going to Purdue and not USNA. He was either going to find the love of his life, or his career path would begin. At that time, he was too upset to respond, but on the day of his graduation from Purdue, just the two of us were walking across campus and I asked if he remember what I said that day. He smiled and repeated it word for word. I laughed and said, "Don't you love it when I'm right?!!" He met his wife the first semester of thier freshman year, and he fell into his job due to an internship he did in college. God knows what he is doing after all!

You always write the best blogs, Miss Mary Ann! Thanks for the reminder! BTW---how is your mom doing? What is the word on all of that? I've been thinking about you.

Have a great weekend dancing!
Love,
Patty
