my hamstrings have been tender after my runs since i started my 10k class. i talked to my teacher and it's because i've been running faster than i'm used to. a LOT faster than i'm used to.
before i started my half training i went out and ran a mile as fast i could so i could get an idea of what my paces should be during training. i hit an 8:05 and wanted to kill myself. i never touched that pace throughout my training. i had a hard time with anything under 9 minutes.
this morning i did 7:33. twice. it wasn't pretty, i'm sure. i was the slowest person out there at my distance. and now i sit here apologizing profusely to my hamstrings. it's ok, though, because i know we'll get through this. anything to look like a runner, right?
