FITS Blaster

Today I participated in, what our local YMCA calls, its annual FITS Blaster. A FITS Blaster is a introduction, of 10 minutes in each of the different fitness classes that the Y offers. The classes include Zumba, Pilates, Spinning, Step Aerobics, Kick Boxing, Power Pump, Belly Dancing and Total Body Challenge, and yes, I did attend all of the sessions. I had to set a good example, because my wife is the "FITS coordinator" as well as an instructor and a personal trainer. She had ask me to go and I did have an interest , because I think I would like to take the Pilates classes and so I wanted to see what they were like. I already take the Spinning classes 3 times per week and I am the substitute instructor, when one of the regular instructors can not attend.

So naturally the Spinning class went just fine; Power Pump, no problem; the Total Body Challenge, a piece of cake; the Pilates, not bad at all; the Belly Dancing, I was surprised that I did fairly well with it. The Zumba, Step Aerobics and the Kick Boxing on the other hand, were very disappointing. The problem for me is not the executing of the moves it is executing the moves in rhythm and I do not have any. The instructors kept telling us that the important thing was to have fun and I did, so I guess that I would say that it was a good experience, but I do know that my sense of rhythm sucks.

    Zumba is so much fun isn't it!?!? You are right no one can get those moves perfect! But it sure is fun trying! =)
