In July, as my several year old Treo phone was disintegrating, leading to multiple conversations about replacing it with a Blackberry, Android or Iphone, I settled on the new iphone 3Gs.
That purchase led to the Apple APP Store and an Ifitness app. Without the App Store, the Iphone would be just another phone. By chance, the first app I found that seemed to be what I needed in the quest to drop weight appeared.
The IFitness App makes it possible to chart weight and BMI daily in addition to providing a plethora of information about various exercises, weights and so forth. With the Ifitness app, I believe it was 99 cents, it's possible to instantly create and update daily a graph of your weight history.
You can with the swipe of your finger view graphs of 7 days, 14 days, 28 days, 56 days, 112 days and 224 days.
That is an awesome visual display of my successes, not so successes and setbacks that I can tap into anytime the phone is in my hand. Plateaus are displayed clearly. Rising and falling become clear with the different time periods. Easy to do and the second step in my tracking progress visually, seeing the results before my eyes and instantly informed when the progress was interrupted or accelerated.
Powerful as the Ifitness App was and is, the next big step, for me, was the discovery of the Sparkpeople App on September 7, 2009-The Day I became one of the Sparkpeople.
