It's Good to be Back

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

Had a wonderful Christmas, New Year's and Birthday. I'm really excited for the weather to warm up so I can use my new Christmas present - LEKI Nordic walking poles. The weather lately has been below zero most of the time so I'm more apt to hop onto the stationary bike or treadmill. But soon I'll be using those poles and having fun.

I'm participating in the Spark Your Body Bootcamp. I hope it keeps me on track for the fitness end of things. Now I need to focus on my eating and drinking water. This cold weather has me not thirsting for water - even after working out. I don't want to dehydrate so I'm going to have to force myself to refill that water glass. Anyone else have this problem in the winter?

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2010!

Very cool! You received the poles you wanted!

I really want a pair of snow shoes now. We tried snow shoeing with the boys over winter break.... and we all love it! Now to buy 5 pairs of shoes! YIKES... they are expensive! I think for this year we will be sticking to renting them at Afton State Park.

I am also going to try cross-country skiing too. It should be a fun winter but I can't wait for spring and summer to come around again!

Glad your your back, and that you had a wonderful holiday season and a happy birthday too. Yes, if we ever get out of this crazy weather you will be able to get going with your Christmas present, sounds like fun. I too get days that water doesn't appeal to me in this wintertime, but just keep drinking anyway. I too am doing the body boot camp challenge and joined the quickfire challenge too, I do need some water after the bootcamp each day, some muscles a bit sorbut nothing I can't handle yet.

What a cool gift. You can use them to keep yourself steady walking on sidewalks until we get some weather that will melt the glaciers that were deposited on the sidewalks before Christmas.

Max, try drinking room temperature water during the winter months. I've always preferred ice cold water, but have found that I am able to drink much more during the colder weather if it's cool or room temperature.

Max, I'm SO glad you got Leki poles for Christmas! I'm hoping to get my knee strong enough to use mine in the spring. Stay warm!

How great that you are getting fitness gifts! I did too! (new shoes, new headphones, a new mp3 & the wiifit plus!).

I am not having your water issue, but, just want to curl up w/ a book, a blanket & junk food!

I am sure we will work thru our challenges & have a great year!
