... but I put in another 5K today.

I should look up what muscle it is that aches when I go downstairs. (It's the kind of soreness that means you've been getting exercise, not the kind that means you're injured.)

    I've found that working with weights is good for decreasing knee complaints - it strengthens the muscles that support them. (Of course, you have to take it gradually so you don't injure them!)

    Ditto on the knees. It doesn't help I slipped on some ice last week and have a VERY grumpy knee!

    For me, it's pretty much the knees that protest when I use stairs *chuckle*
