Monday I ran 4.76 miles in about an hour. I ran for an hour just to see if I could do it. And I did, so I thought, hmmmmm, I might be able to run a Half after all. It didn't seem so impossible.
Tuesday, yeah yeah I should have rested but I wanted to run and I ran 4.24 miles in about an hour, I had to walk some, but I did it, I was moving quickly for an hour.
I was sore and I knew I needed to rest, so I didn't run again until Saturday. Using the training schedule, the next run day was Saturday, seeing as how I ran all 9 miles of the other training days in two days.
Today I laced up and ran. I ran the first 2.5 miles in about 30 minutes. I was so proud as I looked at that time, cuz at the beginning of last year I could barely walk a mile in 20 minutes!!
At the 2.5 point I needed some water and I felt a bit queasy. So I slowed down a bit, then my left hamstring was tight. Not wanting to be injured, I slowed down to a walk. But I put my weight jacket on and kept going. At 60 minute I felt pretty good so I kicked it up a bit and ran the last 1.25 miles!! I could have kept going, I felt great. I walked out all my aches and pains and wanted to keep going. But I didn't want to get ahead of my run schedule or overwork myself.
In total I ran 14.25 miles this week. The run schedule says this week is 13 miles.
That looks pretty easy!! :) I'm so excited!! My Half dream really seems possible! Today I ran 40% of it, with relative ease! KA RA ZEE Awesome!!
