This morning I met one of my favorite sparks, Jocelyn aka wolfkitty at the gym to take a Zumba class. This was my first class and I was excited and a little bit nervous. Sometimes the whole dancing/choreography thing doesn't go so well for me! LOL! I figured that we would have fun no matter what and I was right!
We took up a spot toward the back and moved our grove thang. The class contained some latin dance moves with a little bit of belly dancing and some hip hop type moves. I pretty much sucked...but I wasn't the worst! That was good enough for me! There were plenty of laughs to be had and I particularly remember one lady wearing leg warmers with a yellow and black striped design on them...bumble bee style. They didn't match her outfit - at all. I found this most entaining! Oh, and by the way, wolfkitty can shake her groove thang like nobodies business. She looked like she was having tons of fun and sweatin up a storm. It was a success!
After the class, we went to Jamba Juice and I introduced Jocelyn to Jamba Juice's oatmeal. It was delish! I had fresh banana oatmeal with brown sugar crumbles (280 cals)
Jocelyn had the berry pecan oatmeal which she said she liked. We sat and chatted for a long time and it was great!! I don't get the chance to hang out with my friends very often but I loved having the opportunity to connect. Love ya Jocelyn!
I ran some errands after that and took Taylor to swim practice.
When I got back home I procrastinated but finally drug myself down to the condo complex's workout room to complete the final day of the 30 Day Shred challenge that I set up for the San Diego Sparkteam. I completed 19/30 days. Based on early results, I took second place. Mary (marythepac) completed 22/30 days. She totally rocked that challenge!!! WAY TO GO GIRL! I have to say that having that challenge resulted in more workouts than what would have taken place otherwise. The only bad part is I deviated for my longer cardio sessions because this video became my default. The warm up, circuits, and cool down total around 28 minutes. It is very intense and a great workout but short and quick, too. I highly recommend the video to have on hand when you are time crunched.
One last thing!! I just got an email stating that one of my blogs, I tri....ed, My First Attempt at the Triathlon, was given a Popular Blog Post trophy!!!
