On the Road Again

What a busy week it's going to be! I got on the scale this morning and found a big ol' 164 lbs staring back up at me. That's a three pound weight gain since last week!

I'm not surprised, given the way I've been eating. That means I'm not going to hit my goal of 159-160 lbs for December, but hey, we reap what we sow. I finished my Christmas chocolate yesterday, so I'm sure that didn't help any.

Anyway, this week is going to be crazy! Today my entire family is doing our post-Christmas purge- tidying all the decorations away and throwing away any excess that's stagnated in our rooms. I managed to pull together a big bag of junk over the past two days and feel pretty great about it! It feels good to unburden myself of useless stuff.

Tomorrow I have to pick up my boyfriend and his brothers from the airport. On Wednesday, my family is celebrating my birthday with a movie and a dinner out. Thursday is New Year's Eve, and he and I are heading up to London, Ontario to see our friends. There's going to be tons of food and drink, so I've got to be careful!

I might be going out for dinner (on a double date) on Friday, and on Sunday my family is going for a fancy tea downtown!

This week is full of potentially calorific pitfalls- three meals out, one big party, lots of sitting and waiting (in a car or in an airport), and not too much time to work out. So I've got to have a plan.

Week of Dec 28-Jan 3:

Today: - Strength workout at home
- Be careful with calories- one sweet treat allowed (cookie at dinner)
- Power Yoga DVD in PM
- Hydrate like crazy!

Tuesday: - Weigh self in AM
- Go to the gym before 4:00, do 3 mile run.
- Pack a healthy snack for the airport
- Finish reading for Prof. Proulx while waiting, formulate questions
- Allowed one sweet treat- one molasses cookie after the boys get home
- Turn in early

Wednesday: - Weigh self in AM
- Power Yoga DVD in AM
- Small breakfast and lunch to prep for birthday dinner
- Split small popcorn at movies
- Yoga class?
- Strength train at home
- Compose email for Prof. Proulx, enquire re: thesis advising
- Turn in early

Thursday: - Weigh self in AM- RECORD WEIGHT
- 4 mile run at gym
- Running Room with Mom?
- Head to London for NYE: One drink, one serving of dinner/dessert permitted. If appetizers present, allowed one of each.
- Move around as much as possible during evening.

Friday: - Healthy breakfast, lots of water
- Walk by the lake when home (5K)
- Power Yoga DVD in PM
- Make Mediterranean Salmon for dinner (S*P recipe)
- Turn in early

Saturday: - Weigh self in AM
- 3 mile run at gym
- Strength circuit at gym
- Prep healthy snacks for Doctor Who night- veggie platter

Sunday: - Weigh self in AM
- Rest day
- Fancy tea downtown at 2:30
- Prep for return to classes on Monday
- Pack Monday's lunch
