It happens every year, over the next few weeks, people decide that they are sick of being fat, tired, embarrassed, and sad. As a result, there are mad rushes to gyms, fitness stores, and exercise classes. After about 2 monthes, there are very few of these people who stay on that track, returning to their old ways, and getting back or beyond the point they were the year before.
Are they weak? Are they lazy?
NO. Its hard to stick to a new lifestyle, especially when jumping into it both feet first. Its also hard to stick to it when there is little change seen; again, this is not weakness or laziness---this is human nature. You have to want to change so much, that difficulties and lack of change becomes only a minor bump in the road.
I don't claim to know a lot, but I do know about what I wrote above. Why? Because I wrote about myself. I have done this every year for many years. I strive to change every year, believing THIS will be the year that I will reach my goals--that I will lose all the weight and finally be comfortable in my own skin. Then soon after, I give up--I see no changes, that fast food calls to me, or I just feel too dang tired!
I will re-start my journey, I will stick with it, and I WILL succeed!
I know there are others out there like me....many of us...so who's willing to step it up and change their life?
We have great resources here at Sparkpeople, yet sometimes we (I am so guilty of this) don't take advantage of them--we don't want to spend five to ten minutes a day recording our foods and physical activiy--its just a hassle--My life is not "just a hassle", it is worth every minute on this machine. So the first change I will incorporate into my new lifestyle: I will spend at least ten minutes a day on Sparkpeople recording my foods and activity.
Again, who's willing to change their life with me?
Well....Let's get started then....
WELCOME TO THE NEW YOU! YOU WILL REACH YOUR GOALS AND YOU WILL SUCCEED!
