So the holidays are almost over. And I got on the scale this morning knowing full well it was going to be "back to work" big time. I held my breath and peaked down through my fingers at the numbers on the scale. Ouch - up almost 5 pounds. Not that I was all that surprised. Christmas baking is my biggest downfall - that and eggnog! "Light" schmight - it still packs it on! But on the bright side I know that I will get back into my routine starting today (I was quite lazy about working out the past few weeks - only once a week. Bad girl!)and those pounds will be gone in a week or two at most.
Funny thing is I notice how crummy I feel from not working out. The slow down started after I attended a wedding a few days before Thanksgiving and I danced way more than I should have (hey - I figured it was good cardio!) and I paid for it a few days later when I started to feel pain in my left knee. Then it went to my right knee. I have NEVER had trouble with my knees before. Well I guess I do now! And I also notice that everything seems to hurt more in the winter. Every ache and pain is exacerbated in the cold temps. But on the bright side we burn more calories in colder weather so you can be sure that as soon as the rain stops here in the northeast I'll be hitting the pavement for my walks again, hopefully as early as this afternoon.
So, I'm back to tracking food again. I have continued to track my fitness - what there has been of it this month. I'm not terribly discouraged. Heck - I lost 25 lbs. in 3 months! I know I can lose 5 pounds fairly quickly as soon as I get myself back in gear.
So folks, it's off to the races again! See you in the New Year - and I'll be back in those skinny jeans not having to hold my breath to get them zippered! LOL!
