Okay, I'm asking myself the question...How can I be so good with my eating...I'm VERY selective about choosing wholesome, organic (when I can snag them) fruits and veggies, and lean, clean fish or occasional chicken, turkey, or beef...but yet so HORRIBLE with my wine intake?
I certainly don't drink every evening, it's pretty much of a social thing for me...but once I take that second glass, it leads to a third, and gasp sometimes even a fourth.
This is definitely NOT GOOD...I feel crappy the next morning (today would be a good example) and this is even with a couple of FULL glasses of H2O and aspirin before bed.
Late nights and wine are not my friends! It's just sad that they go hand in hand with friends! I'm not saying that we hang out with lushes...but there is a storehouse of vino available at our events! I have to sit myself down and come up with a strategy, I'm NEVER going to stop drinking wine..that's just a given..but I do have to come up with a plan not to go past that second, or rare third glass. That's when things get sticky, and icky, and headachey!
I've tried a glass of wine, then a glass of Pelligrino, I've tried doing really tiny pours so I will just sip slowly and discreetly, I've tried wine spritzers...a little wine with a little fizzy water...and sometimes those techniques work just fine...but if it's a LONG evening such as last night when everyone is enjoying themselves over food and conversation...that's when my good vino intentions go off track...that's when I over-imbibe and pay for it the next morning...yep today once again would be a sterling example.
I wish I could capture this feeling and pull it up for recall right BEFORE that fourth slosh of the forbidden liquid trickles down my gullet..we have virtual everything, why don't we have virtual "You'll be sorry in the morning" pull up screens programmed into our I-Pods, or our I-Phones...what a money maker that would be...eh?
Well, I had fully intended on posting my clean fruitcake recipe today..but I'm looking at the ingredients and figuring they are WAAAAYYYY to long for today's task. I'll have to tackle them tommorrow. I'm going to go gargle (again) and look myself in the mirror the whole time and start mapping out a new 'party hardy' strategy...yep, you guessed it another party tonight...hold on for the ride!
I'm pretty sure I won't be drinking wine! I'm wined out!
