Day 2 Getting Serious & Keeping It Real

Stepped on the emoticon this morning and am down 2lbs! I'll take it emoticon

I promised my Spark Goal Buddy that I would be using my food tracker as I decided Monday night to make it public. I just logged in my calories for yesterday. The only thing I'm missing are the cheese sauce-again I realize that sounds worse than it actually looks in person- and the sauce that the chicken was in for the lunch burrito. My goal is to get in the habit of using the tracker. I generally don't do well with this however, doing it on the internet should be a big help.

I am off today and have to get some work done on my car-if the mechanic is able to do it. Because of the snow it may depend-he does this on the side in his garage. I've been up since about 4 and I'm getting sleepy. My hand has been bothering me the last 14-16 hours which makes it hard to type. I'm left handed and it's the part below your thumb-the muscle area? I think it was either from shoveling or when I slipped and fell on Sunday night. It was sore on Monday but not as much as yesterday afternoon through this morning. I've been trying to put some ice on it.

Ok, enought babbling. My plan for today is to keep it real by being accountable in my food tracker-which everyone can see emoticon-and also get my exercise in at some point today.

Now I know for Christmas, I shouldn't be doing too much damage. This year, we are having dinner here on Christmas Eve. I am looking forward to changing it up. The only item we've planned is grilled shrimp. My Mom & I discussed and decided that we are not going to spend lots of time focusing on what the meal is but on family time instead. Usually we would have been stressing about who's doing what or bringing/buying what. That's what we did at Thanksgiving. I have to say, I feel less stressed this time around.

So let's have a great day and stay positive folks. Even though it's the holidays, don't cheat yourself! YOU CAN DO IT! emoticon

    emoticon to two GONE! Shrimp sounds like a perfect choice as it is so low in calories and yet it is so yummy to eat. I am sure you enjoyed and all was well because I am reading this after the fact, playing catch up.

    I kind of let myself go today on the tracking and blew it pretty much. I usually log breakfast and lunch as I go from work but today I didn't do it. Now I didn't graze as much as I would have in the past so once I did put in what I remembered eating today, I was shocked at how high it could have been at other times. I didn't eat the cookies and I avoided the chips. I had one serving of the dip, any other time I would have had three "servings". My problem is I kept eating cheese and salami on a cracker, that's what killed my numbers. I've had the munchies all evening. It seems like when I eat the stuff I know I should stay away from I wind up with munchies. Wondering if it has something to do with the balance of nutrition in what I'm eating.

    It's good that you are not making food the focus of your Christmas Eve. We need to eat to live, not live to eat. Enjoy your shrimp. I love it but can't handle eating seafood anymore.

    I do find when I log as I go or prior to eating, I tend to stay in line better with what I'm intending to do. Putting it in prior sometimes I tend to stick to it because I just don't want to have to change it. Keep logging your intake for at least a week to see what trends you are in and what they are doing to your progress.

    I think I turned the corner on losing weight when I started tracking my nutrition.

    I hope your hand feels better!
    We're going simple for Christmas dinner. DH is having lobster and I'm having crab.

    Each step gets a little easier when we start seeing the progress build - KEEP BUILDING - in no time you will gain all the momentum you need to do this thing with your eyes closed!

    Keep up the tracking, SONGBIRD - it is VITAL! Keep a watch on your fibre intake (25gr to 30gr) - get some fruits and veggies in there and watch out for sodium - often found in processed and pre-packaged is a dietary nightmare - between 1,500 - 2,000 mg is where you want to stay between for that.
