Initial 10K: not so bad

I got on the treadmill today and alternated jogging half a mile with walking. I did have to take my walking pace down a bit from what I'd hoped to do, because my calves (and hips, weird) were feeling it pretty badly, but still finished fast enough that it would have been OK in the Apple Blossom race Darwinista and I are training for. And I felt good at the end, instead of knocked out.
The treadmill did kick me into cooldown mode at the one hour mark - I guess it figures that if you're on that long, you need a break - but next time maybe there won't be a bathroom break, and I'll have a better idea of my real time. Let's see how sore I am tomorrow!
