Monday, December 14, 2009

Well my guests just left our home and it has been a fantastic day.

We awoke early this morning and I answered some e-mails and then got dressed for our Cousin Club Chanukah party. At 11:00 a.m. I started the Weight Watchers Deep Dish Pizza that I was bringing for our family. Last night I baked the black bean brownies, which were a hit with the cousins. No one could believe there were black beans in the brownies and they were so nutritious.

We arrived at the party, arms full of presents, soda, food, sweets, table settings, tablecloths, and all the things you need for lunch. S and J and M arrived and after setting up the tables and chairs we sat down for lunch. M ate very well for a four year old. He is learning to use a knife and does quite well for a little one. He loved the pizza as did my nieces S and J.

We were about 50 people in attendance and the children lit the Chanukea with the tree candles for the 3rd day of Chanukah and sang the blessings.

The kids put on a talent show. Two played the piano, one cousin played the flute and one adult played the keyboard piano quite professionally. One cousin recited a rap poem and I told "The story of the Pencil" which was sent to me by one of my Spark friends. The entire talent show was very well received by everyone.

Then it was time for the presents. I bought two new books for M which his mommy loved because it was a new story to read to him, and he also got a Spiderman puzzle from his moms, which he promptly took out and put together in no time flat. What a very lucky little boy he is to have been adopted by these two women. I hope that some day he will appreciate the fact that he was raised by two wonderful women who gave him all the chances in the world to succeed. Maybe I will be fortunate to see him be installed as the future President of the USA just like Barack O'Bama. Humble beginnings, but outstanding life.

So after the party, my two cousins, who knew my DH taped the Packer game, came over for dinner and watched the game with my DH. They brought their luncheon meal and I had leftovers. So we traded dinners. My DH had their chicken and we had leftover pizza. I added lettuce and mandarin oranges to their leftover salad and we had a wonderful evening of watching football and dining together.

They were ready to go home when we saw that Oprah was at the White House and since we love Michelle and Barack they stayed and we all watched the 1 hour special. We all agreed that they are the most adorable couple who, we wish we were intimate friends with so we could be part of their circle of friends.

So now DH just went to bed and I will finish up with SP points and maybe get in some exercise for the day.

Tomorrow is a busy day. Need to run some errands and play Mahj Jong in the afternoon with some new friends, whom I am looking forward to meeting. I met one women on Saturday at temple services but have not met the other.

Food was within calorie count, drank my water, but lax on exercise.
