Just find it strange that there's nothing on this site about raising your metabolism by increasing the number of mitochondria. The basic idea is that mitochondria are the powerhouses of the cells and like all powerhouses they need fuel... fuel from food, fuel from stored fat, whatever. You can increase it, increase your metabolism and then lose weight without going on one of those 1200 calorie I only eat lettuce diets (which of course isn't what Sparkpeople is suggesting but still). I'd love to see someone at Sparkpeople talk about mitochondria and how essential it is to raising your metabolism and losing weight. Who's in?
