The Leki Nordic Walking Poles ( www.leki.com/nordicWalki
ng/nordicWalkingPole.php?p
ID=3
) I won from the AARP Blue Zones Project
( www.aarpmagazine.org/hea
lth/vitality_national/
) arrived today! Woo hoo! They list for $150! Going to have to read up
( www.sparkpeople.com/reso
urce/fitness_articles.asp?
id=952
) and watch some videos of Nordic Walking in action and get ready to try it out!

Keeping up with my 'mill and logging the food. For the first time ever after a treadmill session yesterday I had a peculiar soreness in the upper left quad area so I backed off the intensity today (from 5 mph to 4 mph, dropping the 12 incline to 10) but stuck with it longer and stretched for a longer period afterward. Hoping it's just a passing thing.

Hope everyone's SPARKING their way through this holiday season! :-)

    I've never used poles for walking - I'll be interested in reading about how it goes for you.

    Woohoo! Welcome to the ranks of Nordic walkers! You'll have fun with your new poles. I have to admit, I'm a little envious of your state-of-the-art equipment.
