Update on Dad

Monday, December 07, 2009

Dad is still in ICU, but is stable condition now. He still confused, but in a good way says the nurses. Does have small area of bleeding on the brain, but I don't know as yet what going to done about that.
He know my cousin Bob and his wife helen when go to room, but then he'll turn around and address them by a different name to some one else.
He is on Diazepen for his alcohol withdrawal, but so far it hasn't been to bad according to the nurses.
My brother is going up to do the POA and all the other affairs, so that I can stay home with my family. Guess that one nice about having a brother that single!
Also the social worker is going to work with us to try and get dad in a assisted living center!
Thank the Good Lord for little brothers!
And all of you for your prayers and support, I love y'all!!

Keeping the faith,

Carol

Thank goodness for brothers is right. I know for me, my older sister is my parent's "person" in case anything happens and she lives 1 mile from them in Plymouth, massachusetts. It is a comfort to know other family members are available in case of emergency, but it still does not make our parents getting older and infirmed any easier to swallow. My prayers are with you.

    Dear Mama,
I am keeping you in my prayers. It is so hard to be far away and have a loved one ill. It is especially hard when the holidays are so near. I pray that all works out well and you can have the joy of the Christmas season.

God be with you.
