Thank You For Your Thoughts and Prayers

Saturday, December 05, 2009

I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I so appreciate yur support. I just returned back home yesterday. My Dad passed away on Sunday and we had the calling/viewing on Wednesday and the burial on Thursday. I have 7 sisters and 3 brothers who all have spouses, children and grandchildren so it was quite a big crowd. It was such an emotional time, but we got through it. My Dad enjoyed woodworking and carpentry and they had a lot of his projects displayed and oh there were so many pictures. My Dad also loved pie. Even on his birthday he wanted pie not cake so there was every kind of pie known in the kitchen for everyone to taste. My Dad served in the United States Navy during World War II so there was a full Honor Guard at the burial and they presented the flag to my oldest sister. That was a very emotional moment. We all went back to the church for a light lunch (of course, more pie) and back to my dad's house to all say goodbye. We have some great memories to cherish. Thanks again for your kind words, prayers and support.
Love,
Jill

We honor our loved ones with our memories of them. May yours be sweet and stronger than the sorrow of separation.

Sounds like a good family time. It is difficult saying goodbye and there will always be an empty feeling with the grief that will pass - but the memories we have will last forever! It sounds like you have many memories.
