Building A Better Understanding Of What It Feels Like To Be HUNGRY, FULL, And SATISFIED-
And What Kinds Of Eating Choices Helps You Feel " Just Right "

When Your Stomach Is Empty, A Combination Of Body Processes Sends " Eat Now" Messages. If You Don't You'll Feel Hungry Symptoms: Rumbling Stomach, Decrease in Energy, Distraction.

If You Are A Bit Hungry, Eat A Snack To Tide You Over, So That You Stay Satisfied Until Your Next Meal.

When You've Eaten Enough, Your Brain Knows It. You're Neither Too Hungry Nor Too Full, But Somewhere In The Middle- Just Right.

If You Override The Signals That You've Had Enough, And Keep Eating, You Feel Full.
It's Uncomfortable, Like Your Stomach's About To Burst.

Regularly Check In On Your Body's Signals...
If You Let Yourself Get Too Hungry, Your Body Will Prompt You To Eat,Eat, Eat

Respond In A Healthy Way, Make Smart Choices About Food.

Try To Keep Your Body In A State Of Relative Satisfaction- Never Too Hungry, Never Too Full.

You are so right! I really needed this blog, thanks for kicking my butt! LOL. I just did it the other night, Little Debbie cakes. I let myself get really hungry by missing lunch and it killed my day in the end. My body went into vaccumn mode and I sucked down way too much, to quickly in sort of a frenzy. I learned that no matter what I have to carry a snack bag, everywhere. At least healthier than Little Debbie Cakes. Hehehe. Thanks for the wonderful blog. emoticon

you make such a valid point...when i eat at restaurants or eat unhealthy chinese food i feel sooo stuffed that i can't or don't want to even get up and walk out the store...that is clearly an unnatural feeling...we have to know when to stop.

Thanks so much for sharing this! I'll need to remember that "Full" signal when I go to a buffet restaurant this weekend. It's for a meeting, otherwise I wouldn't even go.
