After having given up trying to predict what the scale will have to "say", I climbed on it this morning for my weekly "visit". I've come to the conclusion that "it is what it is" and that being a progressively-healthier me each week is reward enough! Well, this morning, after being sick with a bad cold for the week following Thanksgiving feasts, I assumed that success would be a break-even week. Well - thank goodness I didn't give in to the old self-talk and give up. I have now lost 10.5 lbs!
I credit this with a huge amount of extra walking the weeks preceding Thanksgiving, and following my plan pretty closely the Thanksgiving /travel week. But I mostly credit Sparkpeople for preparing me for that plan since July: using the nutrition tracker, drinking the water, exercising progressively more as I feel better, reading articles and success stories, having new committed friends - and thus NOT giving up!
I may have to read this again and again to remind myself never to give up, even on the weeks that nothing happens. I'm prepared to continue to follow the sparkpeople plan and continue through the next 10! Onward!
