Reasons to be thankful and important decisions

Thursday, November 26, 2009

The passing of my son was horrible but even in the midst of chaos I was able to keep my wits and freaked when they were sending my son to the coroner, I said hell no, he is an organ donor. I'm thankful I had a very compassionate son who made the decision all on his own to be an organ donor. If you haven't taken the time to tell your family your wishes, please tell them today and next time you pass the driver's license bureau get a new license with an organ donor card. Not only did my son save lives and we are so proud of him for that but now my daddy will be in need of an organ donor. Every day thousands of people die without having taken this important step.

Everyone needs a will, living will, and power of attorney. Don't force your family to make the decisions you should have made.

Have a Blessed holiday,
Amber Adam's Mommy

Working in healthcare! That was AMAZING how you stepped up for your son and what he wanted to do! Many people cannot commit to their loved ones request when the time comes! Mentioning the DPOA and Living Will is GREAT too! Much strength to you as you go about each day!!! emoticon You are truly a #1 MOM!!

We were then and are still now very thankful you remembered to say he was an organ donor. I am certain the recipients and their families are very thankful too.

I am going to miss you today :(

This is a great reminder, what better gift could one give than the gift of life. It is amazing that in such a time of crisis that you remembered your son's wish. God bless you and him for giving the gift of like. I will keep you and especially your Daddy in my prayers. Take care, Thanksgiving Blessings to you and yours.

I am very sorry for your loss, but I congratulate you on having raised a son who was so thoughtful and giving. As someone who works every day with transplant patients and those waiting for transplants, I know how much they appreciate the gifts from people like your son.
