You know you are blessed when...

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

You have the basic essentials to life: roof over your head, food, warmth and love

You have more then you need in "stuff"

Giving is more important to you then receiving

You read God's word and know that you are important to Him and that when all else fails - He will still be there for you

Your adult children acknowledge how much you loved them and sacrificed for them as children/teens and reach out to you in times of need

When the one you love tells you they love you every day

If you have good health

How are you blessed today?
Have a wonderful blessed holiday.

I've been blessed by God for 56 years with shelter, food, clothes, loved ones, security, safety, good health and more. Best of all, I'm blessed with new life in Jesus Christ for 23 years! I never deserved or earned any of these blessings - praise God from Whom all blessings flow! emoticon

Praise God as I am blessed in all of the above ways as well as knowing that God has provided me with a great group of people to love and support me.

That is the true origin of Thanksgiving: Giving praise to God for all that he has done. If you get a chance, check out my blog about the original proclamation of Thanksgiving. It was not about pilgrim's and native americans as we all might think, but Abraham Lincoln set it aside as a day of public praise and prayer. He has some pretty amazing things to say.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
