Maxine's Perfect Solution to Senior Health Care

Monday, November 23, 2009

Here is the solution:

While discussing the upcoming Universal Health Care Program with my sister-in-law the other day, I think we have found the solution. I am sure you have heard the ideas that if you're a senior you need to suck it up and give up the idea that you need any health care. A new hip? Unheard of. We simply can't afford to take care of you anymore. You don't need any medications for your high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, etc. Let's take care of the young people. After all, they will be ruling the world very soon.

So here is the solution. When you turn 70, you get a gun and 3 bullets You are allowed to shoot one senator and 2 representatives. Of course, you will be sent to prison where you will get 3 meals a day, a roof over your head and all the health care you need! And we hear as a prisoner, you will also get a Swine Flu vaccination!! New teeth, great! Need glasses, no problem! New hip, knee, kidney, lung, heart? Well bring it on. And who will be paying for all of this. The same government that just told you that you are too old for health care. And, since you are a prisoner, you don't have to pay any income tax.

Bing brings you maps, menus, and reviews organized in one place. Try it now.

Yet another great blog.....Sorry to say but Your ideas are right on. Love all the comments especially the one about the gun jamming. That probably would be my fate and I'd be sent to a local jail for harassment, where I'd be served fried bologna sandwiches 3 times a day. Wonder how that would look on my nutrition tracker?????
I think it's tragic that people have to BEG for medical help, it was a given when I was a youngster growing up as we had 3 Dr's in our family. Of course that was sooooo Looonnnggg ago I hardly can remember.
    See you in prison!!!!!!!

Another benefit.. no access to the kitchen for some quality grazing time!
There's also time in the 'day room' for exercise!
Heck, we'd all end up in such good physcial shape that we could eventually bust outta there and take over the world!!!

HEY - stop leaking my secret back-up health care plan! Now everyone will want to do it... (I plan to start a "Gray Panthers" prison gang to protect all the seniors!)

Too funny! Unfortunatly, it is also grounded in truth. Idae--lets stop paying for all the perks for prisoners and pay for the people who live clean!

It would be my luck that they would give me the death penalty as I live in Texas, so I'll just rob a bank.

that's a great way to look at it. And if we did have moral values, I'm sure this would be an acceptable way to go about this! Gotta love our government!

It is a shame...America is one of the richest countries and has some of the finest medical facilities in the world, yet there are millions of citizens without benefit of medical care and drugs and many who rely on "cake walks", "bazaars", "benefits" and "collection jars" for possible means to pay for a needed operation, piece of medical equipment, or some sort of costly treatment or test.

Added to this tragedy is the outrageous control the insurance companies have over the medical staff decisions by ultimately dictating whether or not they will "cover" that prescribed treatment or needed medication. And that's only IF you are gainfully employed AND your employer provides AFFORDABLE medical insurance AND you can afford the premiums.

Maybe if the President, the representatives and the senators were subjected to the same medical insurance plans, drug plans, "limited benefits", "coverage holes", yearly premium increases, and insurance company dictates as their constituents are, I have no doubt that the USA would have one of the best Universal Health Plans well before the Congress adjourned for the holidays.

I think this is wrong, in denmark we pay 60% of our wages in tax, we get free doctor and hospital/surgery visits, medications well I am a single mom with 2 ADHD'ers I am granted discount on medications and money to send my boys to activities to keep them out of trouble.. I also got granted a free 1 year stay at a private school for my oldest boy whom has a double diagnose. The social services are bound by law to give him equal chances as rich families to get a education because of our law on equal oppertunity...
When I showed the authorities I could loss my weight, they gave me a free tummy tuck to avoid infections and worse.. My mother in law was very dement, she got help from social services to move into a resthome too. My husband never had to pay a cent towards her stay or keep as the elderly get a decent pension...
We pay alot of tax, but no one has to be homeless in denmark, or go without health care.. We are against paying for health insurance, as rich people will fill beds and get help over people whom usually need it more and in a hurry..
We have had hard times to get it functioning, but it works and people no matter what their financial situation can survive and have a good life. Without breaking the world bank deficit.
