Windows 7

Monday, November 23, 2009

I skipped over Vista entirely--avoided is probably more accurate as I stayed with reliable old XP.

The computer has become so slow that we had to update this fall, however.

Windows 7 has a lot of changes, and I'm struggling a little bit.

I'm very interested in what you think of Windows 7. I still have XP and am kinda nervous about updating but my 'puter is getting slow. My BF is a Linux fan - hates Windows - so he hasn't been any help. LOL

Thanks for the encouraging words--this looks to be an all-day process for me.

Keep us posted on how you like Windows 7. I upgraded from Vista (or more accurately, my husband upgraded my computer to Windows 7).

I love Windows 7. I have a pretty powerful computer, so even with Vista, it didn't run that slowly. It took a LONG time to connect to our wireless internet though. Now, it connects almost instaneously.

You can't believe everything you read though. We had run a pre-diagnositc before upgrading and we got the message the the Sony display driver was not compatible with Windows 7. My husband found some work-arounds, but they weren't needed. It turned out the driver works just fine with Windows 7.
