Hi all, it's been a few weeks since I wrote a blog entry, but here I am!
It's 4 weeks to the day until the big race and boy am I nervous! Last weekend, I ran a 5K loop with my boyfriend and timed it- at just under 40 minutes, I'm looking at a 1h20min time for my 10K and that just doesn't feel fast enough. I'm still working up to running for an hour straight and then will really focus on speed.
It's been hard to motivate myself to run, though; finally this week I broke down and bought some sparkly stickers to motivate myself with. Every time I run more than 5K at a stretch, I can put a sticker on my calendar for that day. So far this week I've only managed to run on Sunday and Tuesday! Shame.
I meant to run yesterday, but had to wait 4 hours at a salon out of town while my sister had her hair done (sigh), and then we spent another couple of hours waiting to get our H1N1 inoculations. Which was loads of fun. I wish I'd been able to go to the gym that day, but alas. I'm hoping to go tonight, if I can talk my boyfriend into coming with me!
Anyway, training is going fine if slowly, and my weight is still an up-and-down thing as usual. I can't wait to be back in the 150s... if I work really hard this week, I bet I could get there. That's going to be my challenge to myself this week- I want to see 159 on the scale by Saturday morning!
