Not sure what kind of healthy vs junk food people are comparing ... but it's much less expensive to buy and consume healthy, unprocessed foods.
I reviewed our grocery receipt and noted several purchases of "junk" food and processed food that we didn't "need". Eliminating those purchases would have saved money. A portion of that savings could have been spent on more fruits and veggies for healthier snacks.
We know what foods are good for us to eat... why don't we stick to what we know? I think it's more than just education.... it's dedication and determination to do what is right for our bodies.
Not only are we saving money when we purchase healthy food choices, but long term we won't need to "repair" the damage made to our bodies and health from junk food. And, we won't need to pay the hidden costs (medical/etc) that accompany our poor choices.
Choosing to consume junk/processed food seems to be an excuse for unhealthy habits. It's easy to place blame on someone else. We are all responsible for our own food choices. Don't blame food suppliers for the cost of different foods (healthy vs unhealthy).
We all choose how to spend our own money.
