How many times when you were growing up did your mom put something in front of you and say those words "Try it, you'll like it" and you thought "Yeah right lady soon as you turn your back, it's going in my napkin".
But think on this had you not tried new things, how would you ever have discovered you'd like it? I've been doing that lately with my nutrition tracker, trying different things and deciding would I like it. This morning it was something really simple...2 pancakes with a tablespoon of syrup and a cup of strawberries halved. I thought okay I like pancakes, and I like strawberries, but just a TABLESPOON of syrup? Come on man! You gotta soak em to make it good. But I said I'd give this spark thing a try (yep I tried it and I LOVE it) so that means trying out some of these things I may not see as good and see how it works out. So I had the pancakes with the smidgen of syrup and the strawberries and the cup of milk and people let me tell you! I loved it! I didn't realize how much taste I was actually wasting by soaking them with syrup and whipped cream in my previous life! Wow! What a wake up call.
Then I started really thinking of all the things I have tried and liked in the last few months. I didn't think I'd ever like tracking my meals but I find I do better through out the day doing that, I am more concious of what I put in my mouth and how I fuel my body. I didn't think I'd ever like drinking water and milk more than soda and beer, but I do I can't get enough of the clear stuff! Oh my goodness I am changing.
And you all know how psycho I am about working out now, it's my drug of choice and I plan to use it everyday! No abusing it, I have learned my limits, but if I have a choice between sitting on the couch or going for a walk, I will happily choose the latter.
So let me sound like your moms for a second, Try something new, I am sure you'll like it! Go out and do something different I bet you'll want to do it again!
Later gators, I have a house to clean now, so that I can go out and play later
