Greet and meet at the mall. . . soldiers

I saw two male soldiers today in the mall and walked over to them with an extended hand.

I said to them, Thank your for your service and be safe.

I've seen soldiers before I never walked over to them. Today was the day.

My husband was with me and after I shook their hands I didn't speak for a while.

He's a veteran and my personal hero. emoticon

I was thinking, Here I am in the mall. I felt kind of guilty-Mall Walking.

I have a co worker who volunteers with her sister one day a month with the USO

at the airport. They feed the soldiers as their flights arrive. Her daughter recently

got out on medical leave due to a growth

behind her heart. She has a tumor that has grown talons that have attached to her

heart and lungs. They just found a surgeon who can do this very delicate surgery.

I pray that she's okay. She wants to re-enlist once beyond her health issues. She

worked so hard for her high security clearance.

Hugs and Kisses to all of the soldiers.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. We have much to be THANKFUL for.

Thank you so much for including Service WOMEN on this post. As the "brat" of a 20 Year Air Force vet a lot of people find it hard to believe my MOM was in the military. Obviously I'm grateful for everyone who serves but the ladies still have a special place in my mind since they're trying to make it is what most people still think of as a male job.

Great blog. Just as a reminder, it is not too late to adopt a member of our armed services for the holidays. I have done this for many years and find it to be personally rewarding. How do you go about it? Everything you need to know is on the Adopt A U.S. Soldier website:
http://www.adoptaussold
ier.org/

Today I sent off individual packets of hot cocoa mix, toaster pastries and candy to a unit serving in Afghanistan. There are still people in the unit that have not been adopted, so I'll be sending more goodies next week - along with some recent DVDs, ski masks, and hand warmers.

If this isn't your cup of tea, the U.S.O. accepts cash donations throughout the year.

Hug a seaman, soldier, or marine today - even if it is a cyber-hug.

Hugs,
Janet

I am so proud of our men. I am so thankful that four of our Family have been in Iraq and returned safely. If you give us that young lady Soldier's name many of us would pray for her.

What wonderful pictures and a great reminder for us all to thank our service people for all they do to keep us safe from harm and for us to all keep our freedom here in America---the greatest country on this earth!!

Thank you for sharing this blog with all that read it!!

There are many other countries we have been to that we have enjoyed, but it has been a reminder about all we have here in our country.

So, no matter where you are and what you are doing, stop when you see someone in the service and do thank them for what they are contributing to all of us!! Remind them that we do pray for them and their safety as we all know what they are going through for each and every one of us here in the good ole' USA!!

Peace, love and blessings to you all,

Vicki

Great Blog! My husband was in the service during Vietnam and he says he thinks it is great that people now are Thanking our soldiers and not yelling at them the way he used to get. Thank
You so much for reminding us that we have our freedom because there are people who are willing to fight for it and for us!This is a good reminder. Next time I see a soldier I will Thank him or her. One of my close friends only child is serving over there for the third time. He is suppose to come back in January and I pray daily for his safety as well as for the other soldiers safety. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO ALL ALL SOLDIERS! emoticon emoticon
