If you have read my blogs entries even at least once in the last two weeks, you will know that I am training for my first ever 5K! It is a big accomplishment for me sine I've never been able to run even one mile without huffing and puffing it before stopping to a halt. (and that was during my tennis playing days) The last few weeks have been all about learning how to run, which sounds easy but has many different aspects that I never knew about before starting up running with my experienced husband. It took time to learn how to breath correctly, roll my feet the correct way and setup my body to a relaxed state without compromising my posture. Never in my dreams would I have thought that all of these things would make a difference between a tennis player and a runner. It is a great learning curve that I have had to overcome and am still learning more daily. Thankfully I am blessed by God in my adventure and have seen a great difference in my hard work. Just this week my husband and I have seen a decrease in our running times. (My husband does hold back a lot so that he can run alongside me - bless his heart!) Last night we got down to 31 minutes and 38 seconds! Hurray! Our goal is to finish the 5K race on Thanksgiving day and try to get 30 minutes or under so we are well under way to our successful Turkey Trot!
4-1HEALTHYCYNDI Have a great time. I know you can get to your goal time. It sounds like you are right on track. Just be careful to not over train on the week of the race. I've heard you want to be well rested for the race.
