I did four days of week 5/day 1 last week so today I decided to move on to day 2. I took the afternoon off and after running home from work to change, I went to a park with a 1.2 mile loop and did Suz's podcast. I didn't think I'd finish the last 8 minute run and thought I'd have to stop early but thankfully it ended right when I needed it to. I think I'll stick with this one all week.
I really need to get back to Zumba. It was something I really enjoyed and is a great activity for non-running days. But I haven't been since the spring and I feel guilty - for not going, for gaining weight since I was last there, (insert other stupid excuse here). It's ridiculous but there you have it. I'm off all week next week, so I'm going to call the rec center to see if they're doing classes Mon-Wed. If so, I'll head over for the morning ones and maybe an evening one or two as well. That will get me back into the swing of things.
Today is day 30 of my 10 minutes or more a day of cardio! I'm surprised I'm still doing it but am also surprised at how easy it's been. Sure, some days have been a 10 minute treadmill stroll or 10 minutes dancing around the house, but most have been 30+ minutes of heart rate-elevating exercise. It's been fun and I enjoy that it's getting me here every day to update my cardio minutes, spin the wheel and update my status with my streak. All of that is helping me be successful (I really do believe SparkPeople is an awesome tool and if you use it, you will lose it). I'm looking forward to seeing how long I can keep it up!
