Quest to 10,000!

Saturday, November 14, 2009

I am at yet another plateau...so my awesome team mates on Get your Basc in Shape and I have started a New You Needs a New Beginning November Challenge!! I've decided my program needs a fresh start with fresh new energies and focus!! I am a goal setter and I have set a goal of reaching 10,000 fitness minutes by December 1!! I think it is funny how usually at this time of year...my mind is beginning to focus on a fresh start on January 1...but this year...I'm upping my game in November...hoping to be at my goal weight by January 1, 2010!! Coincidence that I want to hit 10,000 fitness minutes and that the year 2010 is coming up...I THINK NOT!!

Anyways...part of our challenge is to incorporate new workouts (cardio and strength training) into our routines...any great suggestions??? I am a worker outer at homer type of person b/c I'm too poor for the gym...and working out at home works for me...I asked my mom for Turbo Jam for Christmas, a stability ball and new workout clothes...but in the meantime I need to do some new stuff NOW!! I do mix up my workouts via pilates, walk/jogging, Denise Austin aerobics, The Firm, tae bo, 10 minute spark workouts, strength training spark videos with dumbbells and resistance bands, etc. etc. etc. However...I find that I am getting tired of those same things...even though there's a multitude of choices...funny! Yesterday I did the 10 minute jump rope workout from Spark and that was totally awesome and NEW!! So...I'm really excited about that! I am taking my son to the library today and I am going to see if they have workout videos that you can check out...that's one plan of action...I don't have cable tv (refer to poorness mentioned above)...so getting workouts from the tv isn't an option...but seriously...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! HELP ME!!

So...10,000 minutes by December 1, 2009!! Now I'm at 9,135 I believe...so that leaves me with 865 minutes in 16 days. If I workout every day...I need to do at least 54 minutes. If I workout 4 times a week...I need about 70 minutes... I CAN DO THIS!! I NEED TO DO THIS!! So this is my quest...wish me the best...I'll need support, encouragement, and a push...but I know that with my amazing support system on Spark and my internal drive and motivation...this goal will be accomplished!! Go me! Go us!

My all time favorite DVD is The Biggest Loser Cardio Max. It's soooo fun and burns tons and tons of calories. I honestly only used that DVD (plus a little walking) when I first started losign weight. I'd probably STILL be using it if it hadn't scratched on me. anyway, well worth the $14!!!!!
