Marginal success ( i hope)

Saturday, November 14, 2009

Funny thing about relapse and starting over, I'm doing some of the rookie things I did the first time around. Such as: eating like a hound after a walk.
Yesterday I walked 5 miles and ate enough to feed two people. Literally!
But I'm taking hope from an earlier experience that was similar.
A year ago, when I went crazy over my calories one day, I notices the day-by-day chart at the bottom of my nutrition page and realized that while I was over for one day, I was below average for the week.
So today I added all the daily numbers and divided by 7 and I was in range.
A year ago, this worked for one week, but when I tried to play it the second week, it backfired.
Hopefully, I will get the initial freebie week and get back on track this week.
I'll know Tuesday when I weigh in.

That's a good way of looking at it.

I've really noticed it in myself this past week. I eat differently around different situations, but taking all into account I didn't do so badly. I guess that's just how life works.

Good thing about looking back on your "rookie" times is that you can jump over the "trial" and "error" and do the thing that works best. Keep up the great work!

Thas's why I really disagree with those intuitive eating guru's. If you don't have years of healthy eating habits, your intuition tells you to eat a cookie, LOL. Great job on not letting it slow down your momentum!

I think it's good to look at it as a week's plan because there are days where you feel like eating more than others. I am not big on numbers so never been a fan of calorie counting so try to stick with things that are counted for me many times... and from experience have a good idea of what's what. However, it is important to write it down to know how much you are actually putting in when you hit plateaus and need to 'start over' as I have done with my own page and goals today.

Keep up the amazing progress Robbyn and have a fabulous Saturday!

How did the date go?
