I'm Winning a Lifelong Battle with Night Munchies

Friday, November 13, 2009

One of the biggest challenges in this past year of healthy eating, has been breaking my night munching habit. I've tried every trick in the book, and it really doesn't matter if I include it in my calorie intake for the day. All my life, I've been able to eat anything and not gain a lb. Then, a few years ago - bingo. Hormonal changes, mega-stress, and my lifelong eating habits put on the weight. However, I've had the night snacking under control for a couple of weeks now, and don't even miss it. This is a HUGE feat. Yes, if I'm ever famished, I'll allow myself a healthy snack. Otherwise, it's another habit that is best being escorted out of town. Wishing all a happy Friday the 13th.

You are right on!! Saying good-bye to that habit will help you tremendously in your weight loss efforts! I find I sleep better when I'm not laying there digesting a heavy snack :)

Good for you winning the battle with the night time snacking. i still have problems with that. i keep carrots in the house for my snacks. It takes a while to get used to grabbing a carrot instead of something else. Keep up the good work.

    I didn't even notice that it was Friday the 13th . . .

I suppose that it's "easier" to have struggled with your weight for a long time (like me) than to be blindsided. But who am I kidding?

We all have our battles. Glad to hear you're winning yours.

Kick that habit to the curb! Nighttime snacking needs to take a hike! Happy Friday the 13th!
No, I don't get too attached to the flock of chickens but my son's goats are such pets! Now those little ladies are too lovable to resist!
