what if your child was lost or missing?

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Stop and think about what is important to you. What really matters in your life?
I don't know if I am breaking any SP rules but this is something that I feel that I need to blog about. I read a blog from her mother today and her mother is wondering if she is still alive.

"Twenty-year-old Morgan Harrington was last seen Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the John Paul Jones Arena at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. She attended a Metallica concert and was separated from her friends. Virginia State Police and campus security have searched the area using dogs and a helicopter and say they donít have many leads. "

My heart goes out to this family. I see the flyers and posters and my heart sinks for them as they wonder what happened to their child.

I have to remember how fortunate we are to have our families and our children.
If you read this and can only do one thing, please just pray or offer your positive thoughts for this missing young woman and her family and friends.

Her family is in my prayers for a safe return home. In the city where I live they have had several women missing over the last 4 yrs, last week they found 11 of them dead and buried in a mans house!I am still in shock as how this could happen and he lived on a crowed residental street with the horrible stench permenating the neighborhood for years. The wicked preys on unsuspected beings, thrive on causing harm and dont give a dang!
Sending prayers to her family and an angle to watch over her.
Thanks for sharing.

Physically lost--I can only imagine this. Some time ago, my granddaughter was lost for a time. She was found. The total feeling of immense loss and helplessness was horrible.
But even more heart wrenching is feeling your children are spiritually lost.

I misplaced one for 25 minutes 38 years ago at a Donny Osmond concert. Felt like I would not survive. The police were telling me all types of horrid statistics. While I am having a total break down, I hear her calling "MOM, I met some kids & we were at Donny's Hotel waving at him in his window." When she saw how devastated I was, she couldn't even enjoy the concert. She never left my eye sight in a strange city again.

That Mother needs all our prayers!!

I think sometimes we get messed up with the mix of life, and forget what is truly important to us. We take the ones we love for granted. We shouldn't. We should tell them (spouse and children) that we love them everyday. And just be thankful to have them in our lives. I couldn't imagine what these parents are going through. May God be with them in this time.
