General Thoughts (aka a rant)

Saturday, November 07, 2009

Weight is a constant in my life. I have to watch my weight. I need to lose weight. I need to watch the quality of what I eat. I feel as if I am failing at losing weight. But I keep on working on the diet, and the weight loss plan. I need to do it for me.

Other thoughts:
I am really interested in health care reform, especially in which an insurance company, which has no medical training, can decide whether a prescription is necessary or not.

I am worried about the effects of a long hospital stay will have on a family, financially. Even with the limited medical insurance some people have, can they afford to pay their bills? This will cause more stress for the families, which will hinder the healing process.

I am worried, when employers and state-subsidized insurance programs, threaten to add in "fat clauses," in which they can deny payments based upon obesity.

I need more information about quality health care reform, not the natterings of politicians and political foes.

AMEN. Until a person walks in the shoes of an individual or family member needing health care, they can not understand.

I hear ya and agree about the health care concerns. It has always amazed me that the insurance companies have morphed into such a conglomerate that health can't move forward until they say so.

Well, I can't speak about Health Care Reform other than to say I share your confusion and concerns.

But I can say you can't just base your health on the scale. Maybe your efforts are showing in other ways that you haven't recorded. For example, that extra exercise and eating right might be lowering your blood pressure or whatever. Use a tape measure to track measurements and track those things that your physician tracks. Your efforts may not be reflected on the scale yet, but you might find them in other areas.

Keep up your work. You are working on getting healthy - not just lowering the number on the scale.emoticon
