My Degu babies are here!!

Saturday, November 07, 2009

Well actually they were born last weekend but I couldn't get any pictures because Mama Jill and Daddy Jack have been pretty protective and I didn't want to "rock the cradle" so to speak LOL! Hubby and I went to town for some supplies and when I got home tonight I heard this little sweet voice that had some urgency to it. After investigating I found one of the babies had accidentally gotten out of the nest and was a little stressed out. Mama was worried too so I took the opportunity to get a quick shot of the baby before returning him/her to the nursery. The babies are born fully furred and with eyes open along with their auditory capabilities fully functional. They are capable of playing and running around just a few days after they are born. It is advised not to handle them very much for the first few weeks as it is very stressful for the babies. Now that stresses me out just thinking I can't handle them. So when I got my opportunity to hold this little fellow tonight you can bet I was soaking it up like a sponge! What a little dolly! I had my hubby hold this little guy while I took the shot and he always acts like he doesn't like to do it but he was grinning the whole time LOL! MEN! More pictures will be added when I get more chances at taking some shots. Still don't know how many there are for sure but hopefully in the next week I will learn more.

Isn't it amazing how something this tiny and innocent can create such joy in so many people merely by showing a picture of it?

You are so blessed by getting the chance to see this ... and I envy you! LOL
