Ok, so I didn't make it to my yoga class, nor did I do any weights. I let myself sleep in on the condition that I absolutely will go to the gym tomorrow - there isn't a yoga class scheduled, so I'll just do some moderate cardio and focus on weights.
But, today I DID apply for two jobs, one at Reader's Digest in New York and one at Pearson Education in Pennsylvania. I have been applying to jobs regularly for the past few months and haven't heard back on any of them, so my hopes are sort of low at the moment, but I'm not giving up.
Today, I DID give myself enough time to make a tasty and nutritious dinner to bring to work (and left some home for the hubby, who has the night off) so I wouldn't resort to meager, un-South-Beach-friendly foods of the vending machine. Last week I actually left the office for food, which I NEVER do, and instead of going to a restaurant I went to a nearby grocery store and picked up a ready-made salad and some spring rolls.
Today, my hair looks great, my skin is clear, and I definitely look like the hot 21-year-old (almost 22!) that I am.
Today, I got on the scale before my shower and HUZZAH! 160! However, that is not my official weigh-in for the week, so I'm not putting it in my tracker (no matter how good that would feel). I don't weigh in again until Thursday, so I'm going to do everything I can in the meantime to break back into the 150s.
Going back on the SB diet has not been easy, and I have flubbed a couple times this week, but I know that's not the way to win this game. And now that I'm seeing results again, it's cementing my determination to really stick to this thing and not cheat with a sip of this or a bite of that.
I found a great way to get around my craving for pumpkin pie. I mix about 3tbsp of low-fat cream cheese, 3-4tbsp of pumpkin puree, two packs of Sweet N Low, and a dash of pumpkin pie spice, stir it all up, microwave for about 30-45 seconds, stir again, and eat it warm or cold. It's like eating straight-up pumpkin pie filling, with a great dose of protein from the pumpkin and the cream cheese.
I've also been drowning myself in hot chai tea whenever I feel a sweet craving coming on. We got a teapot as a wedding gift so I've been using it as often as possible. A hot beverage makes me feel full instantly and keeps me from pushing up the thermostat when I feel chilly.
I didn't blog about it at the time, but the hubby and I tried rock-climbing last week - what a challenge! We're definitely going to stick with it. We didn't get very far on our first tries so now we're planning to go every two weeks and gradually improve. The climbing gym is awesome, we love it.
So all in all I'm feeling pretty great, which is even nicer considering the sour mood I was in Thursday and Friday. I can't wait to go to the gym tomorrow, but first I have to end my break and get back to work. ;)
