20 day countdown to Thanksgiving...

Friday, November 06, 2009

I was less than impressed with the "new" Ryan's Steakhouse. There was no fish and very few vegetables. So I actually left feeling "not satiated" which is funny at an all you can eat buffet.

The best things I can say about our meal was half price and I lost weight, lol.

The desserts really weren't much of a temptation for me - just another thing to be thankful for. And most items on the "salad bar" had mayonnaise in them. If you don't know what is on or in a food, you really can't say what you are eating.

However, I was able to find the nutritional values of all the foods when I returned home.

Nope, NO RYANS in Syracuse either. But that does not BOTHER
ME AT ALL. I'M a REAL STICK IN THE MUD to my FRIENDS when it
comes to EATING OUT. I'M VERY PICKY, and MOST RESTAURANT are
always a DISAPPOINTMENT to me. There are probably less than
15 restaurants that I have eaten in & at that I would ever go back again, and 5 of them are in Europe, 2 in Montreal,1 in Toronto & 2 in New York City. OOOPS, forgot 1 in Las Vegas,
& 1 in Denver.
Now are'nt glad we're not meeting for lunch. LOL
Have fun you all & God Bless.

What a bummer. To go out to dinner and the place is just not for you. We don't have one here, thank goodness. Have a great weekend...Karen

Cross that place off of your list. Glad you found all the info you needed when you got home. That, at least, was a plus! emoticon

I haven't been too impressed with out salad bar either, being vegetarian for the most part I had the option of pasta drenched in cheese or cake. All I could eat of it. You are looking on the bright side though which is better than I would be behaving. I tend to throw little fits when I'm hungry.

That's too bad they didn't have more veggies. The one I used to go to usually had quite a few and I stocked up on green beans (love em) and corn with small portions of mashed potatoes (I know not good but I rarely get to have mashed potatoes), some chicken. The desserts never appealed to me and of the ones I did taste they were bland. At least you didn't come out over stuffed as I'm sure most people do.

That is a bummer...you sounded excited to go there too. Well, chalk it up to experience and avoidit if you can in the future. I'm sure there are lot's of better places to go.
Hugs,
Laurie

Sorry your experience was not a good one. Here, our Ryan's offers lots of veggies, fish and a great baked chicken.
