I have a back/pelvis (SI joint) injury that has lasted for 2 years. I have been unable to exercise much during this time. I am finally undergoing a treatment that will take at least 6 months. There is light at the end of the pain tunnel. My doctor, who I really trust with nutrition, put me on a "healing" diet. Gluten free, soy free and lactose free. I should have 2 eggs and 1/2 an avocado every day for breakfast. I also need to eat my veggies cooked, very little fruit, fermented foods and fatty red meats. The upside is I have steak and eggs at least once a week. I was eating clean.
Now I am worried about all the fat intake and the lack of carbs I will be getting. My body functions well on lots of carbs. But gluten free foods are expensive. Just a lot of changes and the treats and stress that come with the holidays. I am going to try my best to resist and find ways to save on these food.
I know the reasons why I must do this. However I have a hard time with will power. Need to give the body what it needs. Brown Rice pasta tonight and it was good.
