Savasana Pose

The name sounds like a song, yet the photo is reminiscent of too much partying. With my first Yoga X workout, "corpse pose" has to be my favorite.....dunno if it is because nothing is required or because it comes at the close of the workout. Hey, I have been doing Savasana Pose for years and never knew it.

Today's workout was every bit as yucky as yesterdays was great - which was abs, shoulders & arms. I had zilch balance. Soreness is setting in from yesterdays kick ass workout and the Vinyasas took it's toll quickly. I was shaky and frustrated. This workout seems to drag into eternity.......seems everything begins with Vinyasas moving to Downward Dog to Runners Pose, and on and on. Defeated with my lack of ability, I keep skipping forward.

For the 2nd straight week, I skipped right past The Yoga Belly 7. My Ab Ripper X workout yesterday was the best I have ever done and boy! Do I feel it today - NO WAY was I gonna work my abs again. Actually that is exactly what I should have done.

I have "INHALE" episodes recorded, but I do not think it is the same type as Yoga X. In a quick look on the web, I learn there are at least 15 types of yoga. As if my life weren't hard enough. I also have episodes of "Namaste Yoga" recorded, which really appeal to me, plus they are only 30 minutes. Maybe doing 2-4 episodes of a much shorter workout during the week would be as effective.

I really, really wanna like Yoga X. I can see so much benefit to be had. Next week, I need to just suck it up and keep at it. In the meantime, I will be exploring alternatives.

Namaste.

Never tried any organized yoga routine. Just a series of poses from a book.

I need to increase that. Maybe I will look at that over the weekend.

I am with you on Yoga X. It is a rough one to get through especially the first half. Once I get to the balancing poses I breathe a big sigh of relief. I may have zero balance, especially at 7 am, but for some reason I really like doing those poses.

Just keep pushing play. Hehe. It should get easier. Also you could search the internet for replacements if you still don't like it after a while. I have heard a lot of people complain about it so don't worry, we aren't the only ones. :)

I still think you are doing great! I can't even imagine doing yoga. I am the least flexible person I know and balance isn't that great for me. You can do it - I know next week will feel better:)

As CCFETT will vouch for me, I totally hate Yoga X and try very hard to like it, but it's just not for me. I am sure I'm missing out on lots. Can't help it...too long and just not for me. I am sure I need to relax and stretch, but it will take time. Lots of time. Good for you though. Good blog!

This made me smile. Well, I'm about 7 1/2 weeks into P90X. I do the classic and follow the plan. I will tell you, I think the Yoga is the hardest for me because of the lenght and I'm so happy when it's done : ). It does drag and I hate hearing downward dog... I had no Yoga experience and I will tell you if you stick with it and just keep going it will get better and you will find you can do more and more. Hang tuff.

Its not likeable, but it's doable. I break it up into 2 halves, first the vinyasas and then the balance and stretching. It really helps me to get it done. I can't say that I like yoga x, but I'm sticking with for now. Don't give up!1emoticon

I've never tried yoga. I have a bad back, I don't know if yoga would hurt it or not. Good luck to you!!!
