The scale

Thursday, November 05, 2009

Good morning scale..... We meet again.

I get on the scale pretty much every day. Usually first thing in the morning, and sometimes before bed. It is a crutch, but it is also my conscience. When I don't get it on on a regular basis, I slip. Even though I track, that scale will tell me when I have gone too far. I do hate relying on the scale, and I have tried tracking measurements, but they don't speak to me like the scale.

I was wondering how many other get on the scale on a daily basis or more. What are your thoughts? Is my scale relationship unhealthy or a legitimate measurement of success?

I keep my scale in the closet downstairs and I try to only use it once a week.
If it was in my bathroom, I would be on it 100 times a day.
I have so many other measures and I know how I feel, but for some reason, those numbers on the scale seem to have the biggest impact on how I feel...??

That's why I keep it hidden because I know it will impact my mood, if you can weigh everyday and not let it get you down or ruin your day, then I think it is okay.
Plus, if that is what keeps you on track, then Do it!

Only you can decide how important it is to you. If you obsess about it, step on less frequently. Keeping accountable is good, but don't let it interfere with your healthy eating and exercise plan.

I don't, I refuse to let the scale have that much power in my life. As it is, the number can dictate how I feel. I don't like that... well unless it is saying I have lost weight! LOL
