Have wanted to try running for a while now but every time I tried I was sore for a week afterwards. I would take off with a beautiful stride and not be able to keep it up for long so I would walk until I could breathe again and then bound off with that beautiful stride. This usually would only last one session since I would be sore the next day.
I was reading another members blog and had an ah-ha moment when she said her daughter ran with her the first time and made her run so slowly that she was embarassed. Of course I shouldn't start off my first running attempts with a beautiful stride - I had never allowed myself to learn to run. I just ran.
Well this weekend I included about 2 minutes of slow jogging to my walk. The next day I included several 2 minute sessions of slow jogging to my walk. Guess what - no soreness and I am looking forward to my next session.
I do, however, need to find a better bra so that there is a little less jiggle in my jog ; >}
