Catching Up

Monday, November 02, 2009

I have been meaning to blog here, to catch up on vacation and to reconfirm goals for myself and it has been a hectic few weeks lately. Hectic in a good way, really.
In the way that you can be really busy, with a lot of priorities and never getting everything done in a day that you want .... But, as I fall asleep at night, I feel like all that was most important to get done that day, got done.

I have been cleaning out closets and getting rid of my clothes that don't fit anymore. A lot of them are in good shape, since it seems I zoomed quickly into another size before I got to wear some of them a lot :) I have a few friends wearing just those sizes.

I am going through pictures we took on vacation. Here's one from a catamaran ride out on a bay off the Carribean. It was perfect sunset timing. There's shots I took minutes before and minutes after his one, that look totally different. Sunsets are really amazing.

DH and I bought new wedding rings this weekend. I lost mine snorkleing on vacation :( I was very upset and DH was quick to remind me it was just a "thing" easily replaced. I will be glad to get the rings in another week or so ... my hand feels a bit naked.

We also went to a potluck dinner yesterday at church --- and, no, I have no idea what calories I ate yesterday :( It's something we do every year, where everyone brings a covered dish from their ancestral country ... or some food, anyway. Had some great tamales, empanadas, and a stuffed pepper from Peru filled with peanuts, raisins, beef ... not sure what else. All was wonderful!! Oh, and did I say I had several handfuls of candy corn yesterday also :-|

Today I am back tracking food and exercising.

Thought for the Day -
Life is always walking up to us and saying, 'Come on in, the living's fine,' and what do we do? Back off and take its picture. (Quote by - Russell Baker)

Sounds like you are in such a great place in your life...I hope you take a minute (or two or three!) to acknowledge that you,and only you, have made all of it happen! emoticon

what a beautiful picture - looks like you had fun.

Sorry to hear about the ring but happy to hear you'll have a new one soon.

My son is talking to me and I lost my train of thought...oh yeah, that potluck dinner sounds yummy. I'm back to tracking and exercising again today too. Let's lose those pounds!

Sorry about your ring, I lost my engagement ring a while back. My husband waited about a month and then took me to the jewelers to have me pick out a stone for a new one. I think as women we think about our rings differently.

Glad to hear you are getting rid of the clothes that don't fit you and are taking up closet space. What a nice feeling to not be able to fit in them because they are too big and to be able to give them to someone else to wear.

Love the picture

Sorry about your ring!! I would hate that. You don't need to worry about the food as you will work it off today!!! I know you!!! And doesn't it feel good to get rid of clothes that don't fit??!!! I can remember this past spring taking bags of clothes to St. Vincent De Paul thrift shop. It was wonderful!!
I need to do it again but some of those jeans (even though they don't fit) are like old family members and they are so soft and comfy!!!
