Collecting Inspirational Women
Monday, August 28, 2006
I'll turn 40 this year and I've been so afraid of that...I feel like I'm running out of time to do those things I've wanted to do. I've been trying to collect information on women who pursued physically demanding adventures after a certain age. One of the first ones I found was Hulda Crooks - - - this lady broke age barriers for sure! From the age of 66 to 91 she climbed Mt. Whitney 23 and at age 91 climbed Mt. Fuji!!!!!
Another woman very inspired by Hulda is Powerk Hiker Sandra Johnson. She took up the sport of power hiking at 56 years old and now has quite the resume.
Women like this are amazing and they inspire me. I've said before that I want to make it a hobby to "collect" these ladies - - - buy their autobiographies, learn about them, be inspired by them.
They are living proof that we're never too old!
AND you folks here at Spark are inspirations.
So now to make a list of my dreams and start to follow them. I might achieve them... I might not...but it's a direction to choose that's good and healthy!
