Took my own water bottle through airport security!

I got several strange looks as I boarded the plane, sipping on my pink stainless steel water bottle.
I guess it has not occurred to many people other than me that there is no ban on taking an empty reusable water bottle through security and refilling it at the water fountains scattered throughout the airport. (Security does appreciate if you leave the cap off in your bag so they do not have to pull it out to verify that it is empty.)
Given that I make a point when flying to drink a full 16 oz bottle before boarding (each segment) and refilling it just prior boarding for in flight drinking, I figured out that I saved at least $32 in bottled water (at the $4/bottle airport price) during my recent round trip!
Since I already had my water, when the beverage service came by, I enjoyed a 70 calorie complimentary bottle of V8 with my pretzles.
