I'm back after a nice long weekend up in the mountains, and I definitely feel relaxed but also that I did not maintain my routine while I was up there. I did go for a long ass walk for an hour, but I am so used to having my elliptical runner it's tough to really feel you are getting a work out if you switch things up to a different means of exercise that isn't a full on "i'm gonna kick your ass in the gym" kind of work out. Also, granny's cooking was amazing but of course comfort food so I tried to have controlled portions but it was tough, especially with really nothing to do but relax eat and watch movies. I hope my weigh in next week doesn't show I failed any, I have to definitely get back on track this week!

Control is such an issue that I do not like to admit is important with weight loss. I want to be one of those laid back whatever people who shed the pounds regardless of calorie counting but I'm starting to think I will A. gain weight or B. end up unhealthy and losing weight the wrong way. Knowledge is power, and I'm glad for this website and everyone involved because I need to keep a healthy outlook on this journey and stay knowledgable as to the balance of calories and exercise as not to plateau, starve, overeat, give up. Because the latter I am very, very good at.

Your blog takes me back to my childhood when my grandparents had a house in the moutains. I used to whine and complain about walking down the (small) mountain to go to the post office each day (they walked every day, G-ma is gone but G-pa still walked every day). Now I long to have a place like that to enjoy the peace and quiet the 'natural' exercise of walking up and down the moutain, swimming in the river, shoveling snow, and chopping wood...

Glad you're relaxed and remember that being de-stressed makes it easier to lose weight!! so when you work out it'll be that much more beneficial emoticon

No, no, no! You are going to take a day to get your bearings and then jump right back in there. Read a bunch of blogs for incentive. You can do this. I am new here and weigh as much as I also have to lose so I am as big as two people. If I can haul
my abundant carcass up each day you can too. I swear, I'll bug you!
