Weekend of Cooking

So, I just spent the entire weekend cooking! I made a number of dishes that only need an ingredient or two and some heat so that my husband can make them and make them very easily. Hopefully this will make it easier for him so there is a larger variety of food choices that still offer healthy well, rounded nutrition for my family.

I also made some energy bars, bran muffins, whole wheat pancakes, and things that can be warmed in the mornings for a good healthy start to the day.

Thank goodness for freezers and crockpots!

    I do this too! I have a wonderful book called "What to Cook When You Think You Have Nothing in the House to Eat". The recipes are all healthy and balanced and use low cost foods no one thinks about using but everyone has. Generally I cook all day on Sunday so we have our meals for the week just laid out. Recently I bought a dehydrator too so more food could be stored. If you have the food on hand, you're less likely to get fast food.
