Meeting Luna

Saturday, October 24, 2009

What a hoot yesterday- I kept looking at this young woman at the gym and finally got up the nerve to go over and say "hey are you my Luna?"- No, I have not lost my mind- It was LUNA 2000 at the gym. Nothing like meeting your Spark Friends in "real life". She is even prettier than her picture. I was all nasty sweaty but she was gracious enough to give a hug! It's such a great thing to know what SP can do. I know that it's sad, but I probably would not have said anything- just smiled and moved on- if I didn't have the SP connection prompting me to get out there and say "hello"! I also have the pleasure of knowing LYMEY74 up close and in person as well as my sister in law, WEITMARE. I also want to say that some of the people that I may never meet have become very special to me as mentors, cheerleaders, teachers, and all around decent people. What an eclectic, great bunch of people that I know I can reach out to in joy but also in frustration and sadness if that's the case at the moment. I struggle but I know that I'm not alone. I juggle twenty things at a time, have a messy and cluttered home, problems with eating, an enormous dream to run, and the desire to be a better, healthier me. All I have to do is look around and I'll find information, help, encouragement, and best of all friendship to carry me thought whatever I need to go through to be where I want to be.
Thank you my Spark Friends near and far!!!!

I have met Janice through the Y, we are both on the Lime team, Y Not Be A Loser. My impression is that she is an energetic, vivacious and determined woman. Janice, you inspire me and you are a person that I want to know better. Throughout the week when I am struggling just to get myself out the door in the morning, I always think of your smiling face and positive, friendly attitude.

BTW...Last time I looked at the board, Janice was the leader in points for not just our team but of all the "Losers".

That's so neat! That's great that you had the courage to go and introduce yourself, that's a feat in itself :) It's funny when I read this (at the end), I think, you don't give yourself enough credit. I think you are doing great, and I just have to say, I have never thought of you that way. You are my super awesome sister in law who I love dearly! :) I'm so glad you joined up here, I love reading your blogs!

Hey my special girl!! Love ya too! I got to meet a sparkfriend at the Race for the Cure here in Des Moines yesterday and blogged about it. I'd love to meet you too someday. But until that time, you stick with the running. It calms the mind when mentally you are still juggling those 20 things. Glad to hear your house is untidy too -- I don't feel so bad about mine then :)
